High-rises a recent trend in Las Vegas:
Till the 1980's everything grand about Las Vegas hotels and homes were the sprawling kind. Many of the hotels on the Strip like the Flamingo, El Rancho and the Desert Inn were spread out of over several acres and you could drive right to your room.
The trend towards the high-rises started with the Mirage Resort. Today the Venetian, Mandalay Bay, Bellagio and the MGM Grand are some of the recent examples of the hotel-casinos that are also high-rises.
Turnberry Estates started the trend of high-rise condo living in Las Vegas with its first of its three towers in 1999. Truly luxurious these high-rise condos had all the trappings of opulent living to the Las Vegans.
Today the trend is towards high-rise condo-hotels. People love the convenience, style and luxury of living in condo-hotels.
