Las Vegas A Vibrant, Beautiful City
The city of Las Vegas was born on May 15, 1905. Land was auction for two continuos days and around 2,300 lots were sold for a total price of $265,000. Within about a week's time a tent city came to life on the desert floor. First to come up were a post office, a saloon and gambling hall, hotels and a bank.
Since then Las Vegas Valley has come a long way. Under good leadership this city has prospered and is the fastest growing metropolitan area in the United States today. Business and industry find Las Vegas attractive as the overall business climate is one of the best in the nation. The reasons for this are many some of them are: no state income tax, no corporate income tax, and a moderate cost of living. Add to that a young, highly skilled and well-educated work force and fantastic weather. No doubt, many young American come here pursuing their American dream and finding it in this beautiful and vibrant city.
