Summerlin's Independence Day Parade

Summerlin which has been ranked among the country's best-selling master-planned communities for most of the last 10 years is home to over a 100 parks, miles of trails, temples and churches, shopping centers and cultural facilities, business parks and medical facilities.

On Independence Day a patriotic spirit consumes the village and the whole community participates in the many events organized in connection with the day. The parade itself draws around 25,000 spectators each year and has become Las Vegas Valleys' biggest Independence Day Parade. With people dressed in the blue, red and white colors of the flag the whole atmosphere is charged with patriotic fervor each year.

Some of the events are exclusively for people living in the community. Others like the Independence Parade are open to the general public. The parade will celebrate its 12th anniversary this year and will start at 9 a.m. It will include floats; marching bands; decorated cars, boats and trucks; and community groups that will travel along flag-lined streets. The parade which will commence at Hillpointe Road and Hills Center Drive in The Trails village will travel southwards towards the Village Center Circle roundabout before heading west on Trailwood Drive. It ends at Trailwood and Spring Gate Lane.
